CLOTHING TIPS

Simplicity is the key - dress in solid colors which are medium to dark in tone. Normal business attire and hairstyles are fine. Note: Please do not wear a fine-woven checked shirt or hound's-tooth fabric or jacket for your portrait. A moir pattern (random wavy lines in fabric) might appear in your clothing. Moir cannot be removed - so another session might need to be scheduled and billed for if you object to this pattern appearing in your clothing.

Tips for men's clothing - Conservative and understated is best.
Dress in a dark suit jacket or sport coat without checks or patterns. Wear a light solid color shirt with a comfortable and well-fitting collar, preferably not button-down. Ties should be conservative, matching your suit or sport jacket rather than contrasting with it.

Tips for ladies clothing - Simple and classic lines work well.
Dress in a medium to dark suit jacket without checks or patterns. Blouse should be light to medium in color with a simple neckline. Avoid large jewelry which has shiny surfaces.

Hairstyles
If you plan to have your hair cut, schedule it several days before your portrait session. Last minute hairstyle changes often need some adjustment before one is comfortable with them. Better to try out that new look after your session is over.

Beards
For the men - If your portrait session is scheduled for the late afternoon, a fresh shave may be advisable if a 5 oclock shadow is prevalent.

Photography can be painless - Relax and enjoy the experience.
Many people have a problem reconciling their self-image with the face looking back at them in their portrait. Our experience is that a natural smile and attitude is your best presentation. The photographer is skilled at lighting and posing you to make you look your best. Relax and enjoy your moment in the lights.
